United States Air Force Enforces Mobile Security Using Senforce

    Senforce Technologies(TM) Inc., the leader in enterprise endpoint security enforcement, today announced that U.S. Air Force Air Mobility Command (AMC) is deploying Senforce Enterprise Mobile Security Manager(TM) (EMSM(TM)) to enable air crews to communicate wirelessly with headquarters as they travel from location to location.

    Panasonic(R) Toughbooks(R), the COTS rugged laptop of choice for USAF Air Mobility Command and Electronic Systems Command, provisioned with Intel(R) Centrino(TM) Technology and Senforce security enforcement software, will enable them to engage in communications with its forces globally. The Senforce software provides a level of security compliance management that effectively controls wireless connectivity and associated security issues.

    Air Mobility Command needed the ability to exploit the use of wireless networks anywhere. For example, AMC needed to be able to automatically 'turn off' wireless access when connected to the wired network so that their people wouldn't inadvertently be inviting intruders in. This isn't as simple as it sounds. In order to do this, AMC had to purchase a laptop, then contract with a systems integrator to remove the wireless antenna altogether. For security reasons, AMC was being forced to incur costs to disallow wireless, rather than taking the risk of using wireless technology unsecured. Senforce enabled them to take a much smarter and more strategic approach.
