Alan Paller writes in the SANS digest, "The President's Critical Infrastructure Protection Board has released the first phase of the US National Strategy to Secure Cyberspace - a list of the key questions to be answered in the Strategy. By releasing the questions first, the Board hopes to encourage interested parties to suggest innovative and thoughtful answers to each of the questions." Fifty-three questions were chosen by the Board through a series of extensive consultations with private and public sector leaders and technical experts. The questions illuminate the key issues to be addressed in the National Strategy. The next step in the process of building the National Strategy is to enable interested parties to propose answers to these questions - answers that may help the people drafting the strategy do the best possible job and reflect the widest possible set of interests, experiences and knowledge. The SANS Institute has agreed to collect answers, sort them, and compile them for review by National Strategy drafters. SANS will not evaluate the responses or change them.
