Under the banner Stopwatching.us, the Mozilla Foundation, the EFF and 86 other civil liberties organisations have launched a campaign that calls for "a full accounting of the extent to which our online data, communications and interactions are being monitored".
In a blog posting, Alex Fowler, the leader of Mozilla's privacy and public policy team, explains the campaign is a response to the reports of the US government "requiring vast amounts of data from Internet and phone companies via top secret surveillance programs".
