The advisory DSA-2044-1 for Debian identifies a critical integer underflow vulnerability in mplayer, which could potentially allow attackers to execute arbitrary code.
tixxDZ (DZCORE labs) discovered a vulnerability in the mplayer movie player

For the stable distribution (lenny), this problem has been fixed in version
1.0~rc2-17+lenny3.2.

We recommend that you upgrade your mplayer packages.

Upgrade instructions

dpkg -i file.deb
will install the referenced file.

If you are using the apt-get package manager, use the line for
sources.list as given below:

apt-get update
will update the internal database
apt-get upgrade
will install corrected packages
