Fedora 32: 2021-6e581c051a Moderate: Glibc Buffer Overrun Correction

fedora
Calendar Grey January 19, 2021
Dist Fedora Esm H88
Address buffer overflow vulnerabilities in glibc for Fedora 32, applying enhancements aimed at boosting security and performance of the system libraries.
- x86: Check IFUNC definition in unrelocated executable [BZ #20019] - x86: Set header.feature_1 in TCB for always-on CET [BZ #27177] - x86-64: Avoid rep movsb with short dista...

Summary

The glibc package contains standard libraries which are used by

multiple programs on the system. In order to save disk space and

memory, as well as to make upgrading easier, common system code is

kept in one place and shared between programs. This particular package

contains the most important sets of shared libraries: the standard C

library and the standard math library. Without these two libraries, a

Linux system will not function.

- x86: Check IFUNC definition in unrelocated executable [BZ #20019] -x86: Set header.feature_1 in TCB for always-on CET [BZ #27177] - x86-64:
