fedora
Calendar Grey February 7, 2022
Dist Fedora Esm H88
Fedora 35 introduces an important Luai update that addresses vulnerabilities and improves performance. Review the specifics and proceed with the installation.
Update to lua 5.4.4, 5.3.6

Summary

Lua is a powerful light-weight programming language designed for

extending applications. Lua is also frequently used as a

general-purpose, stand-alone language. Lua is free software.

Lua combines simple procedural syntax with powerful data description

constructs based on associative arrays and extensible semantics. Lua

is dynamically typed, interpreted from bytecodes, and has automatic

memory management with garbage collection, making it ideal for

configuration, scripting, and rapid prototyping.

Update to lua 5.4.4, 5.3.6. Note that while this fixes CVE-2021-43519, it was

also fixed in 5.4.3-4.

- update to 5.4.4, update bootstrap code to 5.3.6

- 5.4.4 contains the fix for 5.4.3 bug7, which is also CVE-2021-43519

This fix was also in 5.4.3-4, so you do not need to update solely for that.
