A recent flaw in Django can lead to excessive resource usage from specially designed traffic, ultimately resulting in denial of service across various Ubuntu releases.

Details:

Seokchan Yoon discovered that Django incorrectly handled certain regular

expressions. A remote attacker could possibly use this issue to cause

Django to consume resources, leading to a denial of service.

Update Instructions

The problem can be corrected by updating your system to the following
package versions:

Ubuntu 23.04:
   python3-django                  3:3.2.18-1ubuntu0.3

Ubuntu 22.10:
   python3-django                  3:3.2.15-1ubuntu1.4

Ubuntu 22.04 LTS:
   python3-django                  2:3.2.12-2ubuntu1.7

Ubuntu 20.04 LTS:
   python3-django                  2:2.2.12-1ubuntu0.18

In general, a standard system update will make all the necessary changes.
