Securing WLAN Links: Part 2
By its nature, the wireless medium provides inherent security challenges for today's wireless LAN (WLAN) system designers. Developers of the initial 802.11 specification tried to tackle these security concerns head on. These efforts, however, have fallen short, making questions around WLAN security even more intense.
This is the second part in a three-part series on securing WLAN links. In Part 1, we examined the inherent challenges with the wireless medium. Now, in this part, we'll look at the security challenges plaguing the 802.11 specification. Part 3 will continue this discussion, providing security solutions for WLAN designers.
