fedora
Calendar Grey April 21, 2005
Dist Fedora Esm H88
Release notes for Fedora Core 3 update on libtiff addressing absent JPEG functionality within utilities, improving manipulation features for TIFF file handling.
The tools shipped in the libtiff package were missing the JPEG support, even though the library was compiled with JPEG support turned on.

Summary

The libtiff package contains a library of functions for manipulating

TIFF (Tagged Image File Format) image format files. TIFF is a widely

used file format for bitmapped images. TIFF files usually end in the

.tif extension and they are often quite large.

The libtiff package should be installed if you need to manipulate TIFF

format image files.

The tools shipped in the libtiff package were missing

the JPEG support, even though the library was compiled

with JPEG support turned on.

- add missing jpeg support to the tools (#151784)
