The recent PAM upgrade for Fedora Core 3 addresses PAM_CHECK concerns and rectifies memory_leak vulnerabilities, thereby strengthening user authentication mechanisms.

Summary

PAM (Pluggable Authentication Modules) is a system security tool that

allows system administrators to set authentication policy without

having to recompile programs that handle authentication.

- #115309 prefer changing local password instead of NIS one for local users
