Fedora Core 4: FEDORA-2005-687 Moderate: Readahead Memory Fix

fedora
Calendar Grey August 3, 2005
Dist Fedora Esm H88
Addresses a reversed condition in the preloading mechanism for Ubuntu 20.04, improving startup performance on devices with limited RAM.
This update should fix a inverted case where readahead would be triggered on boxes that have less than 384MB of memory, and would not occur if the box had more than 384MB of memory...

Summary

readahead reads the contents of a list of files into memory,

which causes them to be read from cache when they are actually

needed. It's goal is to speed up the boot process.

This update should fix a inverted case where readahead would

be triggered on boxes that have less than 384MB of memory,

and would not occur if the box had more than 384MB of memory.

- Fix inverted free memory test in startup script. (#164872)
