Fedora Core 5 Security Advisory: 2006-336 Severe GnuPG Update

fedora
Calendar Grey April 19, 2006
Dist Fedora Esm H88
The latest GnuPG upgrade for Fedora Core 5 features advancements in data encryption and enhancements to digital signature functionality for improved protection.
This is a re-issue of the testing update, this time signed with the testing key

Summary

GnuPG (GNU Privacy Guard) is a GNU utility for encrypting data and

creating digital signatures. GnuPG has advanced key management

capabilities and is compliant with the proposed OpenPGP Internet

standard described in RFC2440. Since GnuPG doesn't use any patented

algorithm, it is not compatible with any version of PGP2 (PGP2.x uses

only IDEA for symmetric-key encryption, which is patented worldwide).

This is a re-issue of the testing update, this time signed

with the testing key. Sorry for the multiple-releases.
