Fedora Core 5: 2006-223 Moderate: SquirrelMail Japanese Mail Issue

fedora
Calendar Grey March 27, 2006
Dist Fedora Esm H88
Patch for Fedora Core 5 resolves Japanese email dispatch problem in SquirrelMail. Key corrections incorporated.
This update fixes Bug #185767 where we broke Japanese mail sending in our previous update

Summary

SquirrelMail is a standards-based webmail package written in PHP4. It

includes built-in pure PHP support for the IMAP and SMTP protocols, and

all pages render in pure HTML 4.0 (with no Javascript) for maximum

compatibility across browsers. It has very few requirements and is very

easy to configure and install. SquirrelMail has all the functionality

you would want from an email client, including strong MIME support,

address books, and folder manipulation.

This update fixes Bug #185767 where we broke Japanese mail

sending in our previous update.

(I would really appreciate it if Chinese and Korean users

would test this and report if it works properly for incoming

and outgoing mail.)

- Fix outgoing Japanese mail to iso-2022-jp for now (#185767)
