MGASA-2021-0425 - Updated firefox packages fix security vulnerability

Publication date: 23 Sep 2021
URL: https://advisories.mageia.org/MGASA-2021-0425.html
Type: security
Affected Mageia releases: 8
CVE: CVE-2021-38493

Mozilla developers Tyson Smith and Gabriele Svelto reported memory safety
bugs present in Firefox ESR 78.13. Some of these bugs showed evidence of
memory corruption and we presume that with enough effort some of these
could have been exploited to run arbitrary code (CVE-2021-38493).

The firefox package has been updated to the 91ESR branch. See the
upstream release notes for details.
