Here are the details from the Slackware 15.0 ChangeLog: patches/packages/c-ares-1.34.7-i586-1_slack15.0.txz: Upgraded. This release fixes the following security issues: Use-after-free / double-free in c-ares' query-completion handling, remotely triggerable via ares_getaddrinfo() over TCP. CPU-exhaustion denial of service via unbounded DNS name compression pointer chains. Memory-amplification denial of service via unvalidated DNS header record counts.
