Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 RHSA-2007:0968-01 Critical: PCRE Code Execution

Updated pcre packages that correct two security flaws are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4. Multiple flaws were found in the way pcre handles certain malformed regular expressions. If an application linked against pcre, such as Konqueror, parses a malicious regular expression, it may be possible to run arbitrary code as the user running the application. This update has been rated as having critical security impact by the Red Hat Security Response Team.. - --------------------------------------------------------------------- Red Hat Security Advisory Synopsis: Critical: pcre security update Advisory ID: RHSA-2007:0968-01 Advisory URL: https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2007:0968.html Issue date: 2007-11-05 Updated on: 2007-11-05 Product: Red Hat Enterprise Linux CVE Names: CVE-2007-1660 - ---------------------------------------------------------------------1.
