Summary: Updated openshift packages that fix one security issue are now available for Red Hat OpenShift Enterprise 3.0 and 3.1. Red Hat Product Security has rated this update as having Moderate security impact. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available from the CVE link in the References section. 2. Relevant releases/architectures: RHOSE 3.0 - x86_64 RHOSE 3.1 - x86_64 3. Description: OpenShift Enterprise by Red Hat is the company's cloud computing Platform-as-a-Service (PaaS) solution designed for on-premise or private cloud deployments. It was found that OpenShift's API back end did not verify requests for pod log locations, allowing a pod on a Node to request logs for any other pod on that Node. A remote attacker could use this flaw to view sensitive information via pod logs that they would normally not have access to. (CVE-2015-7528) This issue was discovered by Jordan Liggitt of Red Hat Atomic OpenShift. All OpenShift Enterprise 3.0 and 3.1 users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which correct this issue. 4. Solution: Before applying this update, make sure all previously released errata relevant to your system have been applied. New openssl packages are available for Slackware 13.0, 13.1, 13.37, 14.0, 14.1, and -current to fix security issues. . -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 [slackware-security] openssl (SSA:2014-288-01) New openssl packages are available for Slackware 13.0, 13.1, 13.37, 14.0, 14.1, and -current to fix security issues. Here are the details from the Slackware 14.1 ChangeLog: +--------------------------+ patches/packages/openssl-solibs-1.0.1j-i486-1_slack14.1.txz: Upgraded. (* Security fix *) patches/packages/openssl-1.0.1j-i486-1_slack14.1.txz: Upgraded. This update fixes several security issues: SRTP Memory Leak (CVE-2014-3513): A flaw in the DTLS SRTP extension parsing code allows an attacker, who sends a carefully crafted handshake message, to cause OpenSSL to fail to free up to 64k of memory causing a memory leak. This could be exploited in a Denial Of Service attack. Session Ticket Memory Leak (CVE-2014-3567): When an OpenSSL SSL/TLS/DTLS server receives a session ticket the integrity of that ticket is first verified. In the event of a session ticket integrity check failing, OpenSSL will fail to free memory causing a memory leak. By sending a large number of invalid session tickets an attacker could exploit this issue in a Denial Of Service attack. SSL 3.0 Fallback protection: OpenSSL has added support for TLS_FALLBACK_SCSV to allow applications to block the ability for a MITM attacker to force a protocol downgrade. Some client applications (such as browsers) will reconnect using a downgraded protocol to work around interoperability bugs in older servers. This could be exploited by an active man-in-the-middle to downgrade connections to SSL 3.0 even if both sides of the connection support higher protocols. SSL 3.0 contains a number of weaknesses including POODLE (CVE-2014-3566). Build option no-ssl3 is incomplete (CVE-2014-3568): When OpenSSL is configured with "no-ssl3" as a build option, servers could accept and complete a SSL 3.0 handshake, and clients could be configured to send them. Description: FreeType isa free, high-quality, portable font engine that can open and manage font files. It also loads, hints, and renders individual glyphs efficiently. The freetype packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4 provide both the FreeType 1 and FreeType 2 font engines. The freetype packages for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5 and 6 provide only the FreeType 2 font engine. Multiple input validation flaws were found in the way FreeType processed CID-keyed fonts. If a specially-crafted font file was loaded by an application linked against FreeType, it could cause the application to crash or, potentially, execute arbitrary code with the privileges of the user running the application. (CVE-2011-3439) Note: These issues only affected the FreeType 2 font engine. Users are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which contain a backported patch to correct these issues. The X server must be restarted (log out, then log back in) for this update to take effect. 4. Solution: Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant to your system have been applied. This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red Hat Network to apply this update are available at https://access.redhat.com/kb/docs/DOC-11259 5. Bugs fixed (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/): 753799 - CVE-2011-3439 freetype: Multiple security flaws when loading CID-keyed Type 1 fonts 6. Updated kernel packages that fix one security issue are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 Extended Update Support. The Red Hat Security Response Team has rated this update as having important security impact. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS). -----BEGIN PGP SIGNED MESSAGE----- Hash: SHA1 ==================================================================== Red Hat Security Advisory Synopsis: Important: kernel security update Advisory ID: RHSA-2010:0677-01 Product: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advisory URL: https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2010:0677.html Issue date: 2010-09-07 CVE Names: CVE-2010-2240 ==================================================================== 1. Summary: Updated kernel packages that fix one security issue are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 4.7 Extended Update Support. The Red Hat Security Response Team has rated this update as having important security impact. A Common Vulnerability Scoring System (CVSS) base score, which gives a detailed severity rating, is available from the CVE link in the References section. 2. Relevant releases/architectures: Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS version 4.7.z - i386, ia64, noarch, ppc, s390, s390x, x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux ES version 4.7.z - i386, ia64, noarch, x86_64 3. Description: The kernel packages contain the Linux kernel, the core of any Linux operating system. This update fixes the following security issue: * When an application has a stack overflow, the stack could silently overwrite another memory mapped area instead of a segmentation fault occurring, which could cause an application to execute arbitrary code, possibly leading to privilege escalation. It is known that the X Window System server can be used to trigger this flaw. (CVE-2010-2240, Important) Red Hat would like to thank the X.Org security team for reporting this issue. Upstream acknowledges Rafal Wojtczuk as the original reporter. Users should upgrade to theseupdated packages, which contain backported patches to correct this issue. The system must be rebooted for this update to take effect. 4. Solution: Before applying this update, make sure all previously-released errata relevant to your system have been applied. This update is available via the Red Hat Network. Details on how to use the Red Hat Network to apply this update are available at To install kernel packages manually, use "rpm -ivh [package]". Do not use "rpm -Uvh" as that will remove the running kernel binaries from your system. You may use "rpm -e" to remove old kernels after determining that the new kernel functions properly on your system. 5. Bugs fixed (http://bugzilla.redhat.com/): 606611 - CVE-2010-2240 kernel: mm: keep a guard page below a grow-down stack segment 6. Updated cups packages that fix one security issue are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. This update has been rated as having moderate security impact by the Red [More...]. ==================================================================== Red Hat Security Advisory Synopsis: Moderate: cups security update Advisory ID: RHSA-2010:0129-01 Product: Red Hat Enterprise Linux Advisory URL: https://access.redhat.com/errata/RHSA-2010:0129.html Issue date: 2010-03-03 CVE Names: CVE-2010-0302 ==================================================================== 1. Summary: Updated cups packages that fix one security issue are now available for Red Hat Enterprise Linux 5. This update has been rated as having moderate security impact by the Red Hat Security Response Team. 2. Relevant releases/architectures: RHEL Desktop Workstation (v. 5 client) - i386, x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux (v. 5 server) - i386, ia64, ppc, s390x, x86_64 Red Hat Enterprise Linux Desktop (v. 5 client) - i386, x86_64 3. Description: The Common UNIX Printing System (CUPS) provides a portable printing layer for UNIX operating systems. It was discovered that the Red Hat Security Advisory RHSA-2009:1595 did not fully correct the use-after-free flaw in the way CUPS handled references in its file descriptors-handling interface. A remote attacker could send specially-crafted queries to the CUPS server, causing it to crash. (CVE-2010-0302) Users of cups are advised to upgrade to these updated packages, which contain a backported patch to correct this issue. After installing the update, the cupsd daemon will be restarted automatically. 4. Solution: Before applying this update, make sure that all previously-released errata relevant to your system have been applied. This update is available via Red Hat Network.
