Perhaps. But it's not the privacy issue that bothers me. It's the utter pointlessness of Product Activation. Don't believe me? Here's what Microsoft says about it: "All IP protection technologies will be cracked at some point; it is just a matter of time. The measure of success is not completely stopping software piracy. Success is more likely measured in increased awareness of the terms of the license agreement and increased license compliance."
