Hackers Continue 'Early Warning' Attacks On U.S. Web Sites
As of a Newsbytes deadline today, some of the Internet-connected servers that a team calling itself the Deceptive Duo claimed to have compromised were still sporting the pair's call for tougher security at "critical infrastructure" operated by government agencies, banks, airports and large corporations.
At a USGS server known as epg.er.usgs.gov, the Duo had posted a screen shot of data they claimed came from a USGS database. The information looks like employee records, but Geological Survey officials were not immediately available to confirm the information.
