In an unusual move for government transparency, the White House is letting developers get their mitts on its open source code. The US executive branch has been working on its custom code as part of its ongoing efforts to "develop an open platform for Whitehouse.gov.". The group said it is seeking records the security office might have "on technical and legislative proposals for identification systems" in the belief that legislation has already been drafted calling for state driver's license records to be linked to federal agency databases.
