Facebook Security Advisory: Mark Zuckerberg Hacked Photos Incident

CALLS for improved security at Facebook could get some high profile backing after private pictures of the website's founder Mark Zuckerburg were hacked and made public.. XING Security Advisory: Phishing Risks And XSS Threats Detected

A new web site, socialnetworksecurity.org, has been set up to publish details of security vulnerabilities in social networks such as Facebook, Lokalisten, Friendscout24.de, wer-kennt-wen.de and XING. Most of the vulnerabilities listed could be exploited for cross-site scripting (XSS) attacks. Jappy.de, for example, contains one such vulnerability which allows contacts' cookies to be stolen. . The team behind socialnetworksecurity.org also found several vulnerabilities on XING. On Facebook, phishing attacks can be carried out by using a forwarding script which, using a Facebook link, generates an HTTP login query with readily viewable content. Survey Shows 70% Of Facebook Users Worry About Privacy And Malware

A considerable number of Facebook and Google users worry about privacy and malware when using the social networking site and search engine, according to a survey from Gallup Poll and USA Today.. Almost 70 percent of Facebook users and 52 percent of Google users in the U.S. said they are "somewhat" or "very" concerned about privacy when using Facebook.com and Google's search engine, USA Today reported on Wednesday.
