The security expert who made waves last week when he announced that he had hacked into a Macintosh laptop battery explained on Saturday how an oversight by Apple played a key role in his achievement.
At the Def Con 19 hacker conference in Las Vegas, security expert Charlie Miller described Apple's security lapse involving a Texas Instruments processor built into the laptop's battery.

According to Miller, Apple didn't change two of the processor's passwords, which he called the "Unseal key" and the "Full-access key," from the default values set by the manufacturer.
